The Kākāpō is hard not to love. The world's only flightless parrot, critically endangered, and somehow still one of New Zealand's most recognisable faces. There are fewer than 250 of them left — every single one has a name. That feels important.
I've painted the Kākāpō twice now and both times it's been a bit of an event. That mossy green plumage, the round disc face, the general air of being extremely pleased with itself despite everything. Bird of the Year 2020, and well deserved.
All prints are limited edition, produced on archival paper with pigment inks built to last. Ships to Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and everywhere in between.
