The Pacific Green Sea Turtle is considered endangered. A migratory species, they are found in tropical and subtropical oceans worldwide.
Views that evoke sweet memories and capture our imaginations. People often ask me to capture a place that's special to them. My favourite part is the stories that come with them.
Autumn Falcon for Soul Gallery, 2017.
On the little island of Sumatra, less than 400 of this species of tiger are left – the Dusk of their kind, if you will.
Bear for Soul Gallery, 2017.
The beloved pet! I love having the opportunity to paint the beautiful creatures we spend so much time with. Meet Archer, Bruno and Boa, the cute pets I've had a chance to appreciate so far.
This was a solo exhibition held at Soul Gallery in Hamilton, in February of 2017. I'm grateful for the support of Soul Gallery, and I enjoy heading up there once a year to share my work.
Beer label commissions for Parrot Dog and Te Aro Brewing. Fun, and often tasty, projects.
Bellbird Bouquet for Soul Gallery, 2017.
Personal commissions are so satisfying. It's fun to work with someone, understand their particular tastes, and come up with a plan together for the perfect piece.

Blue Morepork, 2014. This one has to be one of my favourites. I particularly loved inking in his big yellow eyes.
The South Island Kokako (distinguishable by its yellow, instead of blue, wattles) was classified as extinct a few years ago, but there have been unconfirmed sightings in the misty South Island forests...
I tried to rein in my palette for this one (tough for me!), and added a bit of smoky white acrylic over the tree silhouettes. I’ll be working on a North Island Kokako pair very soon.
The Kokako makes one of the most beautiful calls, in my opinion.
The Wolf. I’ve been in the mood to do more masculine pieces lately – and might be going through a blue period. This one was tricky and took me much longer than usual — I wanted him to look slightly threatening and intense, but not scary!
I'm loving this slightly desaturated grey blue palette and I used white acrylic for that smoky feeling around the edges.
This was one of my four pieces for the Soul Gallery exhibition in February, 2016.
So I’ve been taste testing a bit of craft beer lately, and have been happily working on a series of little Wellington iconic landscape labels for a great local brewery; Te Aro! Looking forward to seeing/sampling all the bottles printed.
We got the motorway view when you first see the city on your way in, the boat shed lagoon with Mt Vic behind, and the picturesque oriental boat sheds with St Gerards Church/Monastery.
Cool little job. I was tasked with painting the Saddleback / Tieke. Cheeky little fellas. Never seen one in the wild.
And, always fun to see your beer art on tap at Hashigo Zake bar.
